Black Gold has several different dump trucks to accommodate a variety of load sizes. We try to match the size of the dump truck to the number of cubic yards you are ordering so you’re not paying for a large dump truck, when you only needed a small one – or paying a small dump truck to come out several times, when a larger one may be able to do it in one trip. Black Gold also recommends the service of several independent drivers/delivery vehicles, and we have included their information on the chart below for your convenience.
How to Use This Chart:
Find your product in the left-hand column of the chart below (arranged in alphabetical order by product). Read across the line to find the number of cubic yards you are ordering, and then look at the column headings to see what vehicles can deliver it to you. NOTE: All deliveries to the right of the break in the chart are performed by independent drivers. Beneath this chart, you’ll find the delivery rates, etc., for that vehicle. Be sure to read the “fine print” at the bottom of this page.

DELIVERY CHARGES: All deliveries are charged by the hour with a one-hour minimum. We charge for the entire time that it takes to perform your delivery, from loading the truck with your product, driving to your home, discussing the logistics of the dump with you, dumping the product, and the return trip to Black Gold. If we are trucking a product for you from another location, such as direct from the quarry, the clock starts when we leave our pit, and ends when we return to Black Gold.
Small Dump Truck (Ford F550): Rate: There is a $75 minimum charge, which covers 0-60 minutes of delivery time. You will be charged $1.09 per minute for each minute over 60. Delivery is taxable unless we have a valid tax exempt form on file. Black Gold accepts cash, checks or charge (Visa, MC, and Discover). If you wish to pay by credit card, you will need to do so when you place your order. All prices posted on this website include a 4% cash discount (checks count as cash!) NOTE: This truck cannot “double dump” (dump part of the product in one spot and part in another). The hydraulic lift for the dump box cannot be lowered (without damaging it) until the dump box is empty. Deliveries take place Monday through Friday, before 3pm (excluding holidays). Pick Up Truck with Dump Box Insert (Independent Drivers/After-Hours Deliveries):
Rate: There is a $35 minimum charge, which covers 0-60 minutes of delivery time. You will be charged 58₵ per minute for each minute over 60. Delivery is non-taxable. The delivery charge is payable, in the form of cash, to the driver upon delivery. Deliveries take place after 3pm, Monday through Friday, and during the daytime on Saturdays (excluding holidays). You must be available by phone during the delivery window (day and span of time) quoted, and someone must be at the delivery site when the driver arrives.
Dump Trailer (Independent Drivers/After-Hours Deliveries):
Rate: There is a $45 minimum charge, which covers 0-60 minutes of delivery time. You will be charged 75₵ per minute for each minute over 60. Delivery is non-taxable. The delivery charge is payable, in the form of cash, to the driver upon delivery. Deliveries take place after 3pm, Monday through Friday, and during the daytime on Saturdays (excluding holidays). You must be available by phone during the delivery window (day and span of time) quoted, and someone must be at the delivery site when the driver arrives.
6-Wheelers (Independent Drivers/After-Hours Deliveries):
Rate: There is a $80 minimum charge, which covers 0-60 minutes of delivery time. You will be charged 1.25 per minute for each minute over 60. Delivery is non-taxable. The delivery charge is payable, in the form of cash or check, to the driver upon delivery. Deliveries take place after 3pm, Monday through Friday, and during the daytime on Saturdays (excluding holidays). You must be available by phone during the delivery window (day and span of time) quoted, and someone must be at the delivery site when the driver arrives.
The “Fine Print”
- You, or your representative, must be present for the delivery. Your driver will try to reach you by phone prior to loading your product onto the delivery truck. The driver does this for two reasons: the first is to verify that someone will be there to meet him, and the second is to get directions from you if he needs them. If the driver cannot reach you by phone, he cannot perform the delivery.
- All deliveries are charged by the hour with a one-hour minimum. We charge for the entire time that it takes to do your delivery, from loading the truck with your product, driving to your home, discussing the logistics of the dump with you, dumping the product, and the return trip to Black Gold. If we are trucking a product for you from another location, such as direct from the quarry, the clock starts when we leave our pit.
- All deliveries are to take place on a level surface (see #7), with the truck’s tires on a hard-road surface. Severe property damage and/or damage to the delivery trucks can occur if the truck moves off a hard road surface (see liability waiver).
- If you would like to have your product dumped in more than one spot (on the same property), you will need to discuss it with your driver once he is on-site. The driver needs to see if there is adequate room to maneuver the truck, etc. The small dump truck was not built to double dump, and therefore can only do a single dump. In most cases, the 6-wheelers are able to double dump, but additional charges will apply. If there is adequate space, the 10-wheeler and triaxle are able to double dump, but it will increase the amount of time it will take to do the delivery, resulting in a higher charge.
- All dump trucks must use approved truck routes for the delivery of your product. This may not always be the shortest or fastest route to your home.
- If your home is located on a steep hill, we may need to cut back the load size to reduce the truck’s weight so that it is able to travel the hill.
- We cannot raise the dump box if the ground is off-level. The larger the load size, the more level the area needs to be.
- We cannot deliver two different products at the same time on the same truck (e.g. mulch and topsoil) because the products will begin to mix both when they’re loaded on the truck, and when the product is dumped at your home. The only exception to this may be if you are planning to mix the products together anyway (e.g. compost and topsoil). If your goal is to mix the products together, bear in mind that they will only be partially mixed when we dump them …you will need to finish mixing them if you want a uniform blend.
- Tailgate Spreading: The 6-wheelers and the 10-wheeler may be able to tailgate spread driveway stone if the driver has sufficient room to maneuver the truck and keep the dump box in the raised position. Additional charges may apply.
